Format:School & Library Binding
By the Shores of Silver Lake is the fourth book by Laura Ingalls Wilder and one of the least well known, it tells the story of the Ingalls family journey from Plum Creek to Dakota Territory and what they found when they got there and how they coped. Written with the same style and flare evident with all Laura's books it is a compassionate read about daring, adventure, sickness and coping with a loss in the family so great it really does change everything forever. This book shows how Laura's desires in life switch to accommodate the loss and the needs of her family. A gentle familiar loving book from the first letter to the last syllable.

Good 12 July 2011
Format:Paperback
The edition was not the one pictured but an older version. For young followers of the series, this is the first book that feels more of a teenage read. The issues are more serious and the railroad construction site context is quite difficult for younger readers to visualise. Having said that, it's still vintage Laura and we can't get enough of her. I grew up with Laura and my children are lapping it up.

Completing the Set 26 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been searching for two books in the Little House on the Prairie series for a year or two so that I could complete my set. I found them and ordered them. They arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I am delighted! What more is there to say?
