This is the second GI book I have bought and while I find that having the GI values is a great help quite often the comparisons are not like for like which make it a little bit confusing at times: ½ a cup of Frosties has a low GI while 1 cup of Corn Flakes has a high GI.
A lot of the products are items that seem to be exclusive to the Aussie market and I'm no sure if the exact product make up will be exactly the same in the UK.
That said I found it more useful than books which just use a traffic light system which are no use at all when trying to balance a meal by mixing higher and lower GI ingredients. I also found it useful that they included the details of the calories, fat, saturated fat, carbs, fibre and sodium.

I'm not that sure how much use I'll get out of the book unless I plan to emigrate!

This is a very good start for getting the general info on Gi and Calorie content of both "raw", cooked and named commercial products but as it is aimed at the US market, many of the proprietory brands are not relevant to the UK.
Otherwise very pleased with this " GI foods Bible "

A large percentage of the items listed aren't even available in the UK. Also, other books I've read since buying this seem to sugges that the whole Glycemic Index idea is flawed anyway (e.g. Trick And Treat by Barry Groves.) Some scores measure against white bread and some against sugar/glucose. My personal opinion now is just to avoid carbs altogether (apart from fruit and veg) and that would pretty much reduce your chance of experiencing most major health problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
