Not a definitive Dollar collection - none of the WEA material has been licensed which means the absence of several classic singles. However, Dollar's complete Carrere recordings are contained, including superb material such as 'Shooting Star', 'Who Were You With In The Moonlight' and 'Ring Ring'. The excellent comeback single 'Oh L'Amour' is also featured. The compilation is let down by a couple of poor B-sides ('Platinum Rap' and 'B.Beat') at the expense of A-sides such as 'It's Nature's Way' and 'We Walked In Love'. The CD contains an impressive foldout booklet complete with a Dollar discography and informative sleevenotes. Overall, a decent collection. Let's hope that WEA decide to follow it with a CD reissue of "The Dollar Album".

Essenially this is the same disc as the "Dollar Collection" which Castle released in 1992, with four bonus tracks. It contains all of the "Shooting Stars" album - only the play list has been changed, which can be a bit annoying if you have the original. The bonus tracks are OK, but what would really go down well is a complete "singles collection", including the Trevor Horn productions. One gripe - why include "Platinum Rap" again - not really one of their best. It was the B side of "Haven't we said goodbye before", which was a far superior track, but has still to appear on CD. It was good to have a discography included as well. Final summary - an excellent example of totally unpretentious 80's pop music

This 2002 compilation features the entire 'Shooting Stars' album along with many rare bonus tracks including the non-album 1980 smash 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand'. It still sounds great 8 years later so it was remastered well.
The only gripes are that the 'Shooting Stars' album tracklisting isn't in the same order as the LP. Also, despite a nice picture booklet featuring a good biog and discography, it doesn't feature the (gorgeous) original album artwork.
Obviously these minor flaws shouldn't detract you from buying this lost classic of an album, especially at the ridiculously low price Amazon are asking for it.
If you've never heard this album and like great, honest pop music, do try this CD. It was far better than it needed to be when first released in 1979 and contained 3 top 20 hits (4 if you count 'Hold Your Hand')
