Great to see that what you advertise is what you get - doesn't happen like that too often.

Just so so 15 Sep 2013

This book is only for the new collector/purchaser looking for this year knives. Not what I thought it was. Very selective in products shown, and described. Some of the most popular knives left out.

IT's OK 19 Dec 2012

It's OK. I guess I was expecting more information on all knives , not just new stuff. I was expecting more than I probably should have.

Beautiful Photos 30 Jan 2013

I like what the book offers, but I expect more than a catalog (without prices) of the major manufacturers' best sellers.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! 2 Sep 2012
By Nano Man - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
First of all, thank you to the author, Roger Eckstine, for writing and composing this book. The pictures and text are excellent, laid out perfectly, and the quality of the glossy paper is superb. The book contains oodles of information on various steel alloys, handle materials and mechanisms, and gives detailed and overviewed information on a wide range of knives and cutlery. I would suggest any knife enthusiast or interested person buy a copy of this book for your own personal library and reading enjoyment.

It Wasn't As Good As I Expected 1 Jun 2014
By Wallace R. Maclaren - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This Guide to Knives book just shows representative samples but some very excellent
makers ( Bear & Son, for example) aren't even listed. At least one page should have been devoted to most commonly used steels and handle materials and far too many
pages were on various kinds of sharpeners. In fact , the book might have been more
appropriately titled " A Guide to Sharpeners".
