This is what the BBC does best, children's adaptations. Like The Narnia Chronicles I watched as a child, this series has had me on the edge of my seat every week. My daughters and I have been eargerly awaiting the next episode on TV and the DVD is an ideal christmas present.
Superbly casted it encapsulates a childs feeling of detachment from society as well as the magic of innocence. On an adult level the humour is subtle and memorable, the voices of the animals brilliantly done and so apt to their characters.
A must see for the whole family.

quite simply fantastic!!!
a childrens programme that adults can sit and watch quite happily ,fun for all the family.
i originally bought this for my daughter as we missed the original screening and was compelled to watch.
likeable characters both good and bad and a gripping storyline which leaves you craving more from one episode to the next
you wont be dissapointed with this boxset which im sure will become a timeless classic
look forward to the second series which isnt to far away

SHOEBOX ZOO.
AN INTERESTING STORY, VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE NORMAL. CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT IS EXCELLENT. MUST ADMIT MY HUSBAND & MYSELF BECAME QUITE INTERESTED IN THIS STORY AS WELL!!
