I don't know how I came across this product, but decided to give it a go because I had pairs of shoes where the soles had split but the uppers were still perfectly good. I am really pleased with the result - for a few pounds I've now got more life out of shoes that would have had to be thrown away.

One thing I noticed in other reviews was how the top was difficult to undo a second time. I followed the instructions and smeared the thread of the top with Vaseline - no problem undoing the top after that.

I used this to patch an unidentified leak in the sole of my shoe - worked a treat, and now my right foot stays dry in the rain! The shoes were old (but SO comfy!) and the soles had a few cracks in them, so I wasn't sure where to try and plug the leak. Shoe Goo is perfect for this as I just spread it on fairly thinly (I used a disposable plastic knife) like I was buttering a slice of toast, balanced the shoes upside down and left to dry overnight and ..voila! It dries into a thin rubbery clear hard gel - you would never notice it on the sole, particularly once you've worn the shoes once or twice. I am assuming it will wear over time so I will have to re-apply, but no big deal - loads left in the tube and only takes a minute or two. Tip top stuff - saved me £££ on new shoes (for now)!

2nd purchase of this item from Skateslime. Excellent value, communications & delivery. It's a good product too (as much of the world now seems to know).

In the good old days of Woolworth, a couple of stick-on soles and a tube of glue only costed shillings. When I found that my walking boots and street shoes needed attention, I was shocked to find that such things were no longer available on the high street and were much more expensive on-line.

Shoe Goo has enabled me to rebuild the rubber heels and soles of my walking boots. It is much more than a rubber adhesive and forms a structural repair for shoes.

The tubes are large and quite expensive. I doubt that the contents will last very long once opened. I was lucky to need most of the contents at one go, but a smaller size at a smaller price would be nice if you are just sticking on replacement heels and soles.

The resulting repairs seem likely to outlast the life of the shoes.

I recently purchased this adhesive (past 2 months) in the hope to repair a desperate pair of Converse All Stars - to the point where the rubber edging was coming away from most of the sole on both shoes. Before applying I did read previous reviews about creating layers but the first time round I applied ample goo like a mad man in need of fixing it straight away which worked for part of the sole's, but these needed further attention after a week or so. I have since recently reapplied by doing it in two layers, the first at the very bottom of the 'ridge' where the rubber side meets the sole and leaving that to set for a minimum of 24 hours and then filling in the top part to fully seal to the sole and leaving for another day or so. I wear these shoes all the time and really put them through their paces up and down stairs etc and the adhesive really works well to hold and stretch with movement - I'm often checking the goo's still in place which it is! I would say it's not a fully permanent solution and probably will need a touch up here and there but to increase/maintain the shoes lifespan, it's definitely a cheap and very reliable 'fix' to keep you going for such an extensive shoe repair. For those that can still be bothered to read, I used toothpicks to apply straight from the tube in mini blobs for a fairly even layer across. The first time round I did wrap the shoes in tape to hold them tightly for the goo to set but this doesn't matter too much as the goo semi-sets really well after 10 minutes (so be quite quick applying) - plus you might well need small gaps for layering. Good luck!

Bought this for my boyfriend to repair his beloved Cat boots which he wears for work every day. His job involved a lot of walking so he wear through the soles really quickly and his boots are the type that you can't take to the cobbler to fix (he says). Upon receipt we followed the instructions and left overnight as opposed to the recommended time by morning the goo had dried. We would recommend that if applying to the sole you should apply a couple of thinner layers on as opposed to one really thick one. U also get absolutely LOADS of the stuff and I have actually used it to "mend" a rip on the bottom of our bar stool to stop the rip getting bigger (it's at the bottom so no one can see) overall very happy. Would recommend especially if the cobblers isn't an option!!

Loses one star cos I think for the price it ought to have some sort of applicator spatula thing (we used a disposable knife) but that's being a really pedantic!!

Used this glue to stick on some canvas reinforcments on to material. The adhesive power is everything it claims forming a strong bond in next to no time. I read some people have had trouble with the cap sticking but I had no trouble with this. When using this glue make sure you have something on hand to spread the glue about as it is very thick.
