Product Description

Second in the series of films based on Richard Stevenson's 'Donald Strachey' crime novels. Soon after Strachey (Chad Allen) is asked for help by Paul Hale (Jared Keeso), the supposed poster boy for the Phoenix Foundation is found dead and the implications are suicide. But Strachey suspects foul play and, aided by Hale's mother Phyllis (Morgan Fairchild), who had initially encouraged her son to join the Foundation - a 'turn gay people straight' institute run by Dr Trevor Cornell (Michael Woods) and his wife Lynn (Anne Marie Loder) - he begins his investigation.

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital Stereo ), ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Anamorphic Widescreen, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: When hard boiled private eye Donald Strachey finds his latest client dead, an apparent suicide, Albany's favorite gay detective smells a rat and decides to take matters into his own hands. With the help of his straight-laced but adoring husband Tim Callahan and his occasionally too-eager assistant Kenny Kwon, Strachey's investigation leads him on a dark and dangerous trail into the world of "gay conversion therapy"--a twisted mix of psychology and religion designed by Dr. Trevor Cornell to turn homosexuals "straight." ...Shock to the System

4.0 out of 5 stars hot detective 30 Oct 2009
By Xavier
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Chad Allen is his usual hot self in this well produced detective film. The story line is good and the acting is believeable. What the story highlights is the danger of trying to make people into something that they are not, as well as the many prejudices that exist in society about gay lifestyles. It is well worth seeing and is the sort of film that you will happily watch again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot detective 1 July 2009
Format:DVD
This isnt for everyone, its a story about a gay P.I, well its actually more a story about a P.I who happens to be gay, and though there is some very very mild nudity, its much more about someone who's sexuality is irrelivent to the storyline. I bought this having seen it at a friend's house, and its one of three currently on the market that have been filmed from a series of Books.... if you like it you will like the other two DVD's.

4.0 out of 5 stars A PI who happens to be gay 12 April 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is basically a detective story featuring a main character who happens to be gay. However it has a particularly poignant moment when he relates the story of his first love. This story line could only apply to a gay character, possibly even today, despite changes to the army code introduced by Obama.
