Format:Audio CD
I first purchased "Shirley" as an LP in 1976 and played it constantly, I tried to find someone to copy it to cd without luck and so decided to search for the cd. I eventually found it on Amazon and bought it immediately, I was not disappointed and in fact it has three bonus tracks which were not on the original LP. The sound, quality and overall presentation were immaculate and I can't fault this product whatsoever, The tracks still sound as fresh as they did when I first played my LP in 1976. I recommend this cd to all Shirley Brown fans and I rate it higher than Woman to Woman or Joy and Pain. A definite must for anyone's collection, fan or not.

A True Gem From Shirley's Catalog

Funny, I like to think my comments sent to "Soul Brothers" many months back had something to do with this 1977 outing from Arista seeing the light of day on CD. Anyone who like old school R&B will appreciate Shirley's effort on this stone cold classic. From "Blessed Is A Woman" to "A Mighty Good Feeling" Shirley soars from the low notes to the high ones. Many Thanks To Soul Brothers for adding the rare 45 sides as bonus tracks as I had mentioned in my email as well.

Classic Old School R&B From The 70's........

When this album was issued back in 1977 on Arista Records I fell in love with Shirley's vocals. This CD is simply southern old school R&B at it's best. Her upper register reminds you of Aretha Franklin all the way. Not one dud on this CD and the three bonus tracks thats included showcases Shirley's complete outing on the label...

This Shirley album is one of her best; it surely can be compared with her great album "Woman to woman"; buy it with confidence.
