The first four series of the 1980s ITV drama. When Corporal Harvey Moon (Kenneth Cranham) returns home to London's East End at the conclusion of World War II he is surprised to discover that everyone thought he'd been killed in action. The episodes are: 'Hail the Conquering Hero', 'Getting to Know You', 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Lake', 'Sweet FA', 'The Rough With the Smooth', 'A Christmas Truce', 'Getting Results', 'A Deal With the Devil', 'In Sickness and in Health', 'Party Line', 'The Course of True Love', 'Safe as Houses', 'Goodnight Sweetheart', 'Pick Yourself Up, Dust Yourself Down and...', 'Sisters and Brothers', 'I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair', 'Sentimental Journey', 'Goodnight Vienna', 'Baby It's Cold Outside', 'Fools Rush in', Spring Will Be a Little Late This Year', 'Kind Hearts and Coronets', 'Anything Goes', 'Mud Sticks', 'Love Is Blind', 'Lover, Come Back to Me', 'All Or Nothing at All', 'We're in the Money' and 'Love and Marriage'.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shine Off Harvey Moon 8 Aug 2012

Very disappointing.

The Amazon packshot clearly states that this is the "complete" series 1-4. It is not. Series 2-4 are complete, series 1 only has the first two episodes (of a possible 6). It's only in opening the cellophane-wrap and going inside the boxset that you find there are three sets within the packaging: the series 1-2 "25th Anniversary Edition" (which has 2 episodes from series 1 and all of series 2 and, sadly, is also advertised elsewhere on Amazon as being "complete"), together with the complete runs for series 3 and 4.

The series itself is a delight - and here's hoping that, one day, the distributors (Acorn in this instance) will sort out the strangely missing epsiodes as well as releasing the series 5.

I remember watching this back in the 1980s and really enjoyed it. Having just watched it again on DVD,I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around. The sound quality is a little poor in parts but it's well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great classic drama series 18 Oct 2012
Great classic drama series from the 80s. After seeing some of the repeats on Yesterday TV channel, I had to
get this boxed set.
