another brilliant release from one of my favourite IDM artists.

In my eyes this is Wisp's most well-rounded release, only a couple of the tracks I'm not really fond of and it has some of his best works to date on it too, specifically Keeper of the Hills and Hidebehind, plus the gorgeous final track Winter of Flight

Clocking in at over 70mins, Wisp's debut on Rephlex is an absolutely epic affair - with epic songs to match. Some of the tracks sound slightly Analordy but overall I'd say Wisp has definitely crafted his own sound and isn't merely just IDM by numbers. Melody is the key here, something that too many artists are overlooking in favour of bass these days. If you like melodic aphex and bochum welt with a touch of acid/d&b then get this.
