Right, the person who only gave this 2 stars clearly has not researched into the ideology of 'road bike shoes', the difference being that road bike shoes have got the cleat pertruding from the shoe where as mountain bike cipped shoes have it built INTO the shoe so as you can walk around in it. These are not built for walking, I have only walked from my kitchen to the garage with these on and have been fine. As far as the shoes go I am very pleased with them and haven't had any problems. It makes cycling so much easier as your able to get power throughout the whole rotation of the pedal rather than just half, of course it takes a while to get used to clipping your feet in and out and you may fall over a few times and my advice would be to practice it leant against a wall first. It gets to be like a second nature to you. I recommend using some SHIMANO SPD-SL PDR 540 pedals, however the provided cleats are horrific and are wearing down so quickly and would most likely upgrade when they are ground down to dust.
Overall, very very nice fit, the straps on the shoes tighten nicely. I am between size 9.5 - 10 and found that SHIMANO's equivalent of a size 9 fit me perfectly.
