New Delhi 6th June 2008: The Bollywood Star Shilpa Shetty shares the secret of her fitness of a sound Mind, Body and Soul in today's chaotic world, through an instructional video based on the ancient Indian practice of yoga titled "Shilpa's Yoga" The yoga video is shot at the beautiful backwaters of Gods own country 'Kerala'. Directed by Manisha Jha, under the instruction of Yoga instructor Shiv Kumar Mishra and produced by Shilpa Shetty, Shilpa's Yoga is very well executed, picturised on the scenic beach with ceremonial elephants and Kalaripayattu fighters in the background and the demonstration of Asanas in a simplified manner . Shilpa Shetty says "It's a management system for life and it is the most holistic approch to life that I have ever come across. It strengthens, tones and cures. It works on body, mind and soul. Yoga has had a spectacular impact on my life ". This DVD is an introduction to 'dynamic free-flow' yoga practice by Shilpa Shetty. It is inclusive of various chapters to begin with is an introduction by the renowned actress Shilpa herself. The introduction is followed with 'Asanas [Postures]' like 'Back Asanas', 'Stomach Asanas', 'Standing Asanas', 'Sitting Asanas', 'Neck and Shoulder Asanas' and Pranayam [Breathing]. This running time of over 60 minutes approx.

Ms. Shilpa, thank you for this DVD. I use it only for the Asanas and have gifted to friends as well. For Pranayam & warm up joint exercises, I follow Swami Ramdev's teachings. I can tell Ms. Shilpa has been practicing Yog; her movements are very calm & steady. I think others can relate better to Ms. Shilpa since she is a modern woman living a daily normal life like others. I like that the commentary informs audience benefits of each Asana. First, I watched the DVD twice to understand breathing and movements. Now, I watch Ms. Shilpa do an Asan, then I pause & repeat twice; approx 1 hr of Yog Asan. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5; b/c I did not like the behind the scenes. Especially, when the director blew cigarette smoke into the camera; very unattractive! Thank you; Namaste.
