Product Description

She'll Kill Anything That's Dead! In the dark of night at a Buddhist temple, a mysterious ritual is performed causing the dead body of a beautiful teenage girl to be brought back to life. This girl is Makina Hoshino, the latest Shikabane Hime (corpse princess), or killer of restless souls. Caught between here and the afterworld, and bound to the monk who reanimated her, Makina can only gain eternal peace by killing 108 fellow zombies before she is murdered all over again.

4.0 out of 5 stars The dead will fight 3 Jun 2011
By T. R. Alexander TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Shikabane are people who died with regrets and obsessions that keep them from moving on and turn them into monsters that prey on humans. The only things that can kill a Shikabane are Shikabane Hime, a Shikabane who has contracted with a Buddhist monk to hunt down other Shikabane. When orphan boy Ouri meets the Shikabane Hime Makina Hoshino he is drawn into the battle between undead beings that his brother had been trying to keep him out of.

The manga version of `Shikabane Hime' has been on my to read list for a while now so when I saw this first volume of thirteen episodes of the anime I thought I would see what it was like and I must say that it was very enjoyable. The series has some nice animation, a reasonable English dub and some interesting characters. The plot of the series doesn't really start to get going until the second half of the episodes in this volume (before this is it mostly consists of the monster of the week style episodes that introduce the characters and the world they live in) but once it does it is very interesting and I will definitely be keeping up with the rest of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good anime 4 July 2011
This a very good Anime series. The Animation is good, the action scenes are of high quality. The story line isn't too complex, but it keeps you interested. It's not all serious, there are funny bits in it. No nudity, but some subjective adult humor. Characters die in the story, but hey, its about CORPSES! I'm hooked on it. It does involve characters who are in school, but the whole anime doesn't revolve around school. I would suggest it to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Series. 16 Aug 2012
I enjoyed this first volume of the series. It won't make my top ten, but interesting nonetheless (Number 1 is still "Dance in the Vampire Bund" and unless they animate "Angel Para Bellum" then it is not going to move).
However, what really has got my goat up is the fact that I can't get volume 2. What is the point in selling vol 1 when you can't buy vol 2. If anyone can help please let me know.
