I've got Midori's book and although beutifully illustrated it was rather too complicated to follow for a beginner like me. This on the other hand doesn't have pretty colour photo's (hence not being 5 stars) but does have clear instructions starting from the most basic ideas and working up to eleborate designs; my wife loves the idea of the rope corsets although we do need about 60 feet of rope. Pictures are in B&W and the printing quality is pretty low, think laser printed photos, but there are lots of them!

Was a little dull, and not actually that easy to follow in some bits (though only a handful). Nothing particularly creative or exciting in it - I can do better without the book & just online research for free, and I'm an absolute beginnner. Otherwise nothing wrong with the book per se.

Very dissapointing!
The author appears to make it a treatise on her ideas of bondage & S&M. The techniques and photographs in my opinion tend to focus on the female gay market which is fine but nonetheless could have been done far more tastefully. Shibari techniques shown are limited with minimal discussion on tying knots; unfortunately better information is available for free on the internet.

I bought this book for my husband. It is well written and the photos are nicly detailed. It is possible to easily recreate the lashings and knots used. Read more
