Very useful book for professional training. Clear and accesible, and much more comprehensive than basic texts. Detailed explanations of 5 phases diagnosis and treatment. Practical routines for each meridian and problems thereof and attention to points. Practical help on all aspects of treatment.

This is an excellent publication. Easy to read, well presented with clear pictures and photographs. No dumbing down of this important subject but also not to high brow!!

There are some errors in the history section. First, Tokujiro Namikoshi did not study with Tamai Tempaku.
Second, there are at least 12 shiatsu schools recognised by the Japanese government. The Japan Shiatsu College is only one of them.
Third, in my opinion, saying that shiatsu is as old as Traditional Chinese Medicine because it uses some of its concepts and techniques, is like saying that cars were invented by prehistoric men because they use wheels.
