Dolly. A convicted criminal. So what is the first thing you do ~ try to open a home for children. Not enough money? Rob a mail train ~ they'll never guess it was you. Because you weren't convicted for the robbery of an armoured car ~ they just suspected you had the profits of it.
Having said that it is quite an obvious storyline to a point, it is about as gripping as books get. This book first introduced me to the wonder of Lynda la Plante. Yey! I took it to Switzerland with me and ended up spending more time inside reading than outside ~ a bit of a waste of a holiday really! Even so ~ it shows how good it is. Brilliant. Buy it!

prefer LLP's trial and retribution series. This book could have been half the size - not much happens at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book more so because I was already familiar with the characters, probably more suited to women readers.
