Product Description

Women are missing . . .

Is the rising number of abused women who've gone missing a statistical anomaly? Or is a serial killer targeting this vulnerable group of women?
When the Milwaukee Police Department refuses to investigate because no bodies have been discovered, Lisa Rayburn, the clinical psychologist who discovers the anomaly, is drawn into an investigation to discover the cause after one of her own clients goes missing. She finds herself forming an unlikely alliance with a former policewoman turned security consultant, TJ Peacock, and the husbands of two of the missing women who may themselves be murderers.
When TJ is attacked, and a woman looking remarkably like Lisa is found murdered, they know . . . someone is willing to kill to protect his secret.

Can they reveal the killer before he gets to them?

The story's not there 14 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I found this book really unsatisfying. The story had no originality, the characters were weak and too many names were bandied around. It was difficult to remember who each character was and what was their relevance. Plus the story didn't seem to know when to end. There was no drama or suspense and I will not be reading any more of this author's books.

Kept me wanting more 4 Feb 2012

She's Not There was written with rich, descriptive vocabulary, so much that I could picture it all happening in my mind. (A movie should be next!) Sometimes it is hard for me to stay awake while reading, and this novel easily kept my interest as well as my eyes open. The author was able to weave the serial murder mystery in an innocent Midwestern setting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have recommended it to many friends.

She's REALLY Not There! 23 Feb 2012
By Sandy L. Wolters - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
There are so many reasons why I enjoyed SHE'S NOT THERE by MARLA MADISON. It is a suspense filled, believable tale of abused women disappearing. Lisa, a psychologist working with abused women in a women's center comes across a statistical anomaly that tells her abused women are coming up missing in higher and higher numbers. She becomes aware of this fact, just as one of her own patients goes missing without a trace.

Lisa takes this information to the police, but there is nothing that can be done. These are women that often times want to leave the situation they find themselves in and not be found. After all, an adult can legally leave and not tell anyone where they are going. This fact alone makes them a very easy target for a serial killer who has no fear of the police taking the woman's missing status seriously.

Lisa teams up with a wonderful cast of characters including a colorful retired cop, now PI, and two husbands of missing women, to gather evidence as proof the women are actually missing and take this information to the police to force them to start an investigation.

There are several twists toward the end of the book that I never saw coming and truly enjoyed. If you like a good suspense, pick up SHE'S NOT THERE by MARLA MADISON. You won't be disappointed.

Really liked this book....... 28 April 2012

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very interesting and the story line excellent. I don't recall any swearing and there are no sex scene descriptions. So for those of you who don't like that you won't find it here. I don't mind but a lot of people do so I always mention it. There are also no descriptions of dead bodies, etc.

I liked the fact that the author wove in past events and what the killer was thinking, etc. Even though the people working together to find the killer or killers were sure that they were all innocent you still had to wonder since two of them possibly murdered their wives. This story is not a thriller (action wise) but you don't want to put it down because you want to know how everything gets tied up at the end. Plus, the interaction between the characters was good.

There was a twist at the end which I won't mention, but I wish that the bodies in the basement had been finished up. I don't recall finding out who the bodies belonged to (I apologize if it was & I just missed it - I read a lot at night and get pretty tired so sometimes I do miss something because I just don't want to put a good story down). I was really shocked by the twist.

I look forward to reading any other stories by this author. It was a book that you just didn't want to put it down and I can't imagine anyone not liking it.
