Format: Paperback
Sheltie and the Runaway is about a girl called Emma and her pony called Sheltie. They are best friends and they always ride together. They both want a friend who are more like them. One day Emma and Sheltie go and ride near the gates that leads to Apple Wood Forest. On the other side of the gates they see a girl called Sally who also has a pony called Minnow. Emma and Sally become friends and so do Sheltie and Minnow. Sadly Emma's new friend runs away after an argument with her dad. Now it is up to Emma and Sheltie to go and find their new friends.
Sheltie and the Runaway is very easy to read. It is very sad when Emma's friendship is broken because of Sally's dad. It also made you worry when Sally ran away.
I liked the way Peter Clover made such a short story but also was able to make it so exciting and interesting for the reader.
I think girls from age 6 upwards would like this book.
