Rosamunde Pilcher creates a world which we feel fortunate to have been able to visit. The depth of her characters and the emotions her plot evokes make this book a must read for sentimental people. This was my first Rosamunde Pilcher book. She is an author you want to come back to.

This is a really stunning book. Touching and beautiful, the characterisation is good, if somewhat stereotypical in places, the way the story is told is amazing. It is difficult not to form real attachments to - or dislikes for the characters which makes what happens to them more important, more relevant. Not quite a love story, and yet hopelessly romantic it is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.

Rosamunde Pilcher brings each person to life as you go through the book . You have likes and dislikes . A haunting story . Everything that happens is quite feasable although almost a fairy story . I will never give this book away. I have read it 4 times and each time I find a little more that I missed . So good you want to get onto the next page and never put it down . Wonderful story telling .
