Product Description

Product Description

This is a fascinating and witty compilation of the most interesting and outrageous questions received and answered by 82ASK, the UK's premier text-answering service. Find the answers to questions you never could have dreamed of, like: Why is it so rare to see white dog poo these days? What is the largest animal you can knock out with one punch? and Which town in England has the dirtiest birds? This hilarious collection is a miscellany of the obscure, bizarre and downright ridiculous in which you'll discover facts and figures that you never knew existed and surveys that no-one would believe had been conducted.

From the Author

This is our debut into the world of literary and we thought,
what better place to begin than to use the fantastic questions posed by our
avid users, and the answers 82ASK found for them? You'd be amazed by the
weird and wonderful questions on the minds of the public, and if you want
to broaden your knowledge of the obscure or just want a good giggle, then
this book could be your bible of useful (and some useless) facts. Thank you
to all that contributed to this gem of a book (you know who you are!) - we
really couldn't have done it without you...If this book inspires you to ask
some questions of your own, don't search, just 82ASK it! The number is very
simply 8-2-A-S-K (82275).

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect stocking filler for Christmas, 7 Nov 2006
By D. Brierton (Edinburgh, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is such a fun book. Forget all those books of miscellany compiled by the solitary obsessive, here's a real insight into the zeitgest of the country; these weird and wonderful questions are ones submitted by the general public to 82ASK, the SMS question answering service, together -- of course -- with the smart, interesting and often funny answers 82ASK gave. Whether you're looking for something fun and cheap for a Christmas present for friends, family or colleagues, or whether you're just looking to rejuvenate your lavatory library, this is the perfect book. Lots of fun. You might even learn a thing or two as well!

4.0 out of 5 stars Weirdly addictive..., 23 Nov 2006
I actually picked this one up as an impulse buy after seeing a great review in The Sun. It's definitely a weird book - but really funny.

I'm not sure how people come up with these kind of questions. One of my faves: "Where can I buy garlic ice cream (London if possible)?". They come up with a place in Soho!

Amazing!

Worth buying for just the "Strange but True" section alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, a super stocking filler!, 4 Dec 2006
By Dan (Cambridge, UK) - See all my reviews
This is great little book, not particularly verbose, just packed full with interesting (and completely wacked out!) questions and their answers. It's put together well, with themes being well linked together - it makes it easy to read (and get carried away reading) and easy to dip into. Perfect if you like trivia, perfect if you like a laugh! Guess what my family are getting for Christmas...!
