5.0 out of 5 stars Doing things differently, 9 Jan 2009
By Louise (England) - See all my reviews
Great read - I'm using it as my New Year bible, and the `do something different' approach is a brilliant idea. Much of what I've read so far resonates with me, and it's pitched at just the right level - it's fun, but also really sensible and realistic. It's making me think about things from a different perspective - like what's actually going on in my head when I spend, or when I make excuses not to save. I feel like this approach is going to be the thing that finally helps me change the way I am with money. The case studies are good too - they give me confidence that the strategies recommended by the book really work. And it helps to know I'm not the only one who is a bit rubbish on the finances front!

5.0 out of 5 stars jargon-free guide, 11 Mar 2009
By C. Webber (uk) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Thank heavens for a book that not only understands the relationship women have with money, but also advises us about dealing with finance in a down-to-earth and realistic way. Lots of us, I know, feel diffident when it comes to dealing with our dosh. We don't understand - or can't be bothered with - the jargon or the acronyms. But we hate to admit it in case other individuals (mostly male bank managers/financial advisers) think we're thick. I read 'Sheconomics' in one sitting but I intend to keep it on my bookshelves forever, and to dip into it everytime I need advice on any money matter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spending therapy?, 9 Jan 2009
This really speaks to me (even though my Mum bought it for me - was that her guilt? Read on you'll see what I mean...!) - I'm dreadful with money and treat shopping like some do food, alcohol, drugs etc but we don't think of having therapy to address our spending habits. Great to read something that isn't full of jargon and number crunching. I didn't have a resolution this year but I do now. Well recommended!
