Product Description

CD Description

Enbound was formed in 2006 by Mike Cameron Force, who previously had played with bands like Zonata and Poem, and also worked as a producer for Axenstar, Draconian among others. The intention was to create something special with Enbound, and not just be a normal rock/metal band. Some years were spent working on material, finding the right direction for Enbound, and also the right members. The experienced bass player Swede was added to the line-up, as well as the extremely talented [then 17, now 20] year old guitar virtuoso Marvin Flowberg. And finally in 2009 the band found their singer in Lee Hunter [Lars Säfsund] who is most famous for his work in the band Work of Art as well as performing in musicals like Jesus Christ Superstar, in the TV program "Singing Bee" on Swedish television and performing with Biondo in the Rumanian Eurovision song contest 2008. With Lee Hunter Enbound found their last missing link, and now they were ready to take on the world. In 2009 the recording of the Enbound debut album "And She Says Gold" was started, and a deal was inked with the Swedish label Inner Wound Recordings. Björn Engelmann [Rammstein, Primal Fear, Sonata Arctica] was chosen to master the album, and did it with pure perfection. Thomas Ewerhard [Avantasia, Edguy, Masterplan] created the artwork for the album, and produced something of the highest class as usual. An exciting guest on the album is singer LaGaylia Frazier [known from Swedish television, the Eurovision song contest and much more] who performs a fantastic duet with Lee Hunter on the track Frozen to be feat. LaGaylia Frazier .Enbound worked for years at creation something special, and the gold-theme that is found in the entire production binds everything together in a perfect way."And She Says Gold" is a masterpiece of melodic power metal, and definitely one of the best debut albums to come out during the last ten years in the scene. The powerful arrangements that characterize Enbound, together with the smooth and emotional vocals by Lee Hunter, Enbound has created something special. Fans of melodic metal and hard rock will for sure love the sound of Enbound, and the future of the band is really exciting!Do not miss out on this new Swedish melodic metal sensation! Pure gold!Mastered by: Björn Engelmann [Rammstein, Primal Fear, Sonata Arctica] at Cutting Room Artwork by: Thomas Ewerhard [Avantasia, Edguy, Masterplan]

5.0 out of 5 stars The latest in ProgPower brilliance, 19 Feb 2012

This album is a great debut album from swedish metallers Enbound. Lars Safsund's voice is possibly the next big voice of melodic progpower and I would not be surprised to see them rise to prominence over the coming years.

The other musicians are also superb and the dynamics and also ballads are particularly stunning. Standout track: Me and Desire

3.0 out of 5 stars Underrated Power metal, 4 Aug 2011
This review is from: And She Says Gold (Audio CD)
I found this band via facebook and after hearing a few tracks, chose to order. I was happy to see that my money was worth and the music was entertaining enough. Not the best music ever, but good lyrics and pretty good deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album!, 9 July 2011

There are so many good songs on this album, and they vary from each other making it very interesting to listen to. There is a really heavy sound to this album and with many melodies and the singer is soooo good at singing! The music is also very interesting, semi-technical with cool things happening here and there and I discover new things in the background often. I could say it's a bit long but with so much variation from the tracks it is not really something to care about. I can really recommend this album to anyone interested in modern hard rock. Can't wait for album number two if it's coming!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hooks stayed with me after I was done listening. Made me keep returning., 31 May 2011

I bought this the other day and I have to confess that this is quite good. Enbound's debut album is a success in my book. There are no weak transitions here. They switch within a flash. Sometimes it makes the song sound weird if you don't know the structure but I like it. I see much potential in this band. I would say this is Prog-Power-melodic-metal mixed in with some slight old school riffing. Singer's voice is nothing special in this genre. He sounds like the generic standard front man for bands like this. I DON'T LIKE THAT. Vocal arrangements are solid in my opinion. Nothing weird but still solid. Lyrics could use better metaphors and more thought could be put into them. Keys are present but this is not symphonic. They don't have a keyboardist so I'm wondering if it's real or a computer. Soloing is meh. I was entertained. Hooks are catchy and you will find yourself remembering them because of that. They did a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat it. It is very forgettable. What a horrid remake. What were they thinking? That is not metal Enbound. NEVER remake a Michael Jackson song. That should be a rule for everyone. I guess they went out to merge the new with old school song structures. I think they did their job. It's worth getting to know Enbound. Nothing is going to wow you here. A worthy add to your collection though. Out of all the new clean singing metal bands that came out, I rank Enbound as one of the best so far.
