Finally She-Ra makes the move to region 2 DVD's fan of the 80's He-Man will like this series
This boxset contains The Sercet of the Sword in episode format and contains little bits cut from the movie this is not the entire season one as expected but the right region.
The basic plot lines are She-Ra (Adora) is He-Man's (Adam's) twin sister and was always meant to become She-Ra this series follows the adventres of She-Ra as she fights to free her world from the mighty but evil Horde led by Hordak.
He-Man does appear in a few She-Ra adventures so He-Man fans will like this even though it's more of Girl Power type of series She-Ra is strong but not muscle-bound unlike He-Man this is only 32 episodes minus 5 from season 1 so volume 1 buy this for your daugthers they will enjoy it and I bet your sons may get hooked.

I was so pleased to finally get She-Ra on region 2. However, I was very disappointed about the order of the episodes. Some are meant for part 2 of season 1. It is missing episodes, such as "Gateway to Trouble" & "The return of the Seahawk". However, it was nice to see The Secret of the Sword episodes on a UK DVD player. I hope the rest will be released soon!!!

The classic 80s animation makes its triumphant return, in this 6 disc DVD boxset from ClassicMedia.tv, but even though this set is marked as "Season 1" on the Amazon.co.uk page, it is merely only half of the first series.
I might actually be stretching myself by calling this, 'animation' as much of Filmation's later stuff was done using stock animation from its past series, plus a lot of rotoscoping, even up until its very unceremonious end in 1990 and She-Ra is no exception. Thankfully, there is more 'new' animation in the She-Ra series, which makes for a slightly better viewing than the He-Man series, though the 'new' animation does get used a lot again throughout afterwards.
This set is just a very basic one, with only the episodes included and no extras, though on a more irritating note, the episodes are not in episode order, as those who watch this set will be able to tell. As the episodes are not in order, you do have to do a lot of back-tracking to the episode selection menu and disc swapping to be able to view the episodes in their chronological order, which does get a little tedious.
Though with all its numerous faults, this is a nice show and it's good to see it out on DVD finally, but that doesn't save it from getting 2 star rating. Saying that, roll on Volume 2!!
