This is a lovely book with really nice patterns, with some great ones pitched at 'experienced beginner' level.

The problem is with the yarn required. The specific yarns are integral to the patterns, some of the really stunning pieces really do require the specific named yarns to get the effect. Unfortunately this is an American book with American yarns, the majority of which aren't avilable in the UK (or in some cases the USA, as they've long been discontinued). If you manage to hunt down the specific yarns you're looking at around �90 - �110 in yarn costs for each shawl.

Unless you're prepared to do a lot of test swatches trying to find comparable UK yarns, this book isn't really usable in the UK. It's a shame as the patterns really are lovely.
