Review

"Gleefully funny - and gruesomely gory." - E! Online "The funniest movie of the year." - Eclipse Magazine "Full-on, hilarious comedy" - San Francisco Chronicle "The best male bonding film since Last Orders and the best romantic comedy since Love Actually. Oh, and it's a great zombie flick, too." - EFilmCritic.com" --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Product Description

Presenting IDW's official adaptation of 2004's wildly popular rom-zom-com (that's "romantic zombie comedy," of course). This "director's cut" adaptation - produced with the full participation of the movie's co-writer/director and co-writer/star, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg - will feature deleted scenes and other never-before-seen material. Adapted by IDW's Editor-in-Chief, Chris Ryall, with art by Zach Howard (Detective Comics), this volume also contains movie storyboards, production stills, and additional bonus material courtesy of Edgar and Simon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please ignore the previous review, 31 Jan 2007
This review is from: Shaun of the Dead (Paperback)
The item you are looking at is not a DVD of the brilliant film "Shaun of the Dead". It is, in fact, a the collected version of all 4-parts of IDW's comic book interpretation of the film.

...And, it's brilliant.

Chris Ryall and Zach Howard do a superb job. The book retains the same humour of the film itself, thanks to the full participation in it's creation by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Couple that with some beautiful artwork and you have yourself an absolute gem.

I love Shaun of the dead. I love Spaced and alot Simon Pegg and co have done. But I felt this comic was an insult to them. Like all movie comics, it simple races through to tell the movie script, but without any passion or tension. There are far better zombie and movie comics than this. If you are a true collector than this is for you, otherwise it is pretty dull and painted by the numbers.

Its a descent way to spend an afternoon.

However... I if you are only going to buy one dvd, I would recommend that you buy their earlier "spaced" series.

But if you already have that, and liked it, this might as well be your next step. (although "spaced" is better).
