Juvenile and uninteresting. 17 Oct 2011
By eDave - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
From the repetative and dull language to the constant editing errors, this is the least inspiring piece of scifi I have chanced upon in some time. The story is predictable and contrived. Could have received a B in a highschool creative writing course.

Had enough when the prsaident addressed the nation. 28 Nov 2011

Some day I really have to start reading other people's reviews and taking them to heart.

I am not a proper english fanatic and probably abuse it a fair bit my self consequently I usually can let a lot slide. Especially in the case of beginning writers but I honestly can not understand how anyone would want to put their name to this stilted eight grade grammar.

Example; the author had the President of the "advanced country" start a nation wide broadcast with the words "Like you all know, humanity..." From there it is all down hill.

It may sound picky but you'd really have to experience the dialog preceding and following that priceless gem to get the full flavor of what the author considers worth publishing.

Disappointing 4 Nov 2011
By Susan Sharpe - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I just received my kindle and I checked out some of the $0.00 ebooks

I am a sucker for Alt-History so I downloaded Shattered Earth.

It's not what one would normally consider alternate history (a story based on a divergence from our time line in the past). It's more of a secret history detailing how the "aliens" have interacted with earth of the years. And the idea is quite good.

But the execution is not there.

Editing mistakes (which I am finding common in the $0.00 books) abound.

The writing is shallow and uninteresting. There is way too much telling and not enough showing.
