Product Description

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Michael Prescott, author of FINAL SINS and COLD AROUND THE HEART, comes SHATTER - a complex mystery thriller that "deftly weaves inventive characters and believable situations." (Publishers Weekly)

They call him the Rag Doll Man. In the guise of a police officer, he prowls the streets of Los Angeles and the run-down suburb of Corona Beach, seeking victims among the forgotten girls who sell their bodies for a fistful of cash. LAPD detective Donna Wildman, trained in criminal profiling, is loaned out to Corona Beach to bring in the killer. But when the trail of clues twists toward the station house itself, Donna begins to fear that the Rag Doll Man may be one of her own colleagues - one who is watching her every move.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly good read 22 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked this book because it held my interest right through to the last page, I could not put it down. The writing was very much to my taste and really got into the characters. I can often work out who the murderer is at the beginning of many stories unless it is very obvious, but this one kept me guessing. This was the first book of Michael Prescott that I have tried and to date I have now read five.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes murder/mysteries from a character led story with not too much technical detail which although I find interesting, can sometimes be a bit heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read 26 Jan 2014

First dip into this author and I was not disappointed. The story revolves round an evil murderer who uses his knowledge of police procedure to entrap prostitutes and murder them in a harrowing way. Is there a bent cop preying on prostitutes? It points that way, but with several in the police department with various problems in their lives, it could be any one of them. Donna Wildman an FBI profiler is brought in to help the Corona police department and because she is so smart eking out the clues, her own life is put in danger.
I liked the fact that the characters were very real and were all struggling with their demons. Thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Well paced and has more twists and turns than a corkscrew. This kept me guessing right to the end. Good thriller that I would recommend! Look forward to more like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new author to me 8 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book. He is an author I have never read before, and his style is just what I like. The story was very good and I felt bereft when I had finished it. Can't wait to read another of his books which I'm sure will be just as riveting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shatter - really good 12 Sep 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this was a great read with good characters and the plot kept me gripped all the way through. As it gets further into the story the author leads you to believe it's this character and then you think, no it's that one and its only right at the end that you really know. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller as I do.
