I'd been suffering with a DeLonghi DMX50 microwave for some time. I bought the DeLonghi without much research and was very disappointed with it as it heated the plates more than the food, and hoping it would break down and give me an excuse to buy a new one. Recently smoke came billowing out of it so was in the market for a new microwave.
I decided to make sure I didn't make the same mistake again. I read the Which magazine and this microwave came number 2 in their ranking of microwaves (without grill/convection) and I started looking around for the best price. In the more recent Which Swan microwave comes number 2, but reading the review on that, it seemed like poor quality and people complained of door getting stuck so I thought the Sharp would be the one. Amazon was not the cheapest - so bought elsewhere.
The microwave is excellent and heats up food very well. Everything works as it should and am hopeful that I will get many years of good service from it. It has 6 power levels, 9 programmes, which include 3 auto defrost programmes - however the auto defrost prgrammes were poorly rated by Which magazine, but manual defrost scored well. The reheating category got 4/5 stars and that is what I will be using it for mostly so am very happy I bought this microwave.
