The auto-cook menus have been designed specifically for the user who wants every-day, quick and easy reheat and cook modes at the touch of a button. Old favourites such as jacket potatoes, rice and pasta are joined by new selections for fresh vegetables, pizza, popcorn and frozen meals. User operation is simple and clear; there’s even a handy reheat option for tea and coffee.
The R270WM also features auto weight cook and auto weight defrost options to take the guesswork out of cooking, while the speed defrost offers extra-quick defrosting when time is of the essence. Having had poor experiences with cheaper shop-brand microwaves that had combi-grills etc, but didn't last long, we decided to go for a Japanese brand that was only a simple microwave. After 5 days use we are very pleased.
The unit is well made. Nice touches we've noticed include the way that it beeps and says "end" on the LED display when it has finished. That means (1)You can tell at a glance you left something in there and (2) You know you already heated it. When you open the door the "end" message is cleared.
When the Start button is pressed on its own, it starts on full power for one minute. More presses on the Start button add a minute per press.
The cooking time buttons are along the top, so easily accessible. The buttons for the functions we'll never use are in the middle. The Start and Stop buttons are at the bottom, so again easily accessible.
Something that's different to many other microwaves is that the timer is not also a clock. We don't mind this as we have other clocks in the kitchen. It's also one less clock to reset after a power cut.

This is the second Sharp microwave we have had, the other lasted for over 25 yrs. and was much bigger. Although smaller I find the new one to be more efficient and most dishes will fit into it. Definitely recommended.

The delivery arrived within 48 hours of ordering, full marks to Amazon. This is our first Sharp, and after two failures with other makes of combination microwaves, we decided to go for a basic machine. We are delighted with the product which is large enough for anything we require to cook, is very quiet in use and seems to be very efficient at cooking. The instructions are simple but comprehensive enough for everything we need to do and the product is great value for money.

I Like it/
Good oven works very well, No clock to worry about which is good, unfortunately alight keeps flashing where a time would show, which is a bit annoying.
