Beforehand, I purchased mine direct after much looking & research then narrowing my list down to about 3 different TV's (Sony & Samsung included). I suggest you do the same, to see what each set does and what your needs are. Anyway, here's my review -
The Good -
Picture quality is fantastic (especially on Dynamic) and has 8 different picture settings for ossasions (Standard/Movie/PC/Game/Dynamic/Auto/User defined), and the full HD...WOW! you should see films such as 'Transformers' - absolutely fantastic. I've noticed too, it 'remembers' each [device connected] ports screen settings; I have my TV station on 'Standard' defined (picture adjusted to my liking) and also have a Sony home cinema connected to the TV's HDMI ARC port with a AC Ryan media player connected to the amp input, a PS3 connected to TV's HDMI port and when I switch from watching TV ('Standard' setting) to watching something connected to the ARC port (this case, the AC Ryan) the picture changes to 'Dynamic' and switched to the PS3 port, settings change to 'Game'. You can change the screen settings within these AV modes to your preference which is fantastic.
I have a Playstation 3 connected and have the odd dabble at the C.O.D's and more and picture quality is also fantastic & crisp with no lag but I'm no serious gamer but neither my son or I see no faults.
INPUTS - Has 4 HDMI's (one being an ARC HDMI port for your home cinema amp) and also caters for most gadgets, even a USB and it was able to play a film straight of a 2GB stick (just to try it), unlike some TV's that just display photo and/or music. Also the ability to rename each input, albeit 6 characters max (eg HDMI1 renamed to Blue-R or PS3 or whatever).
Speakers are very good for a flat-screen, more than adequate and volume not even passed half-way (but limited on sound fields; no Dolby or Dynamic or such but TV has Bass, Treble, Bass Enhancer and Surround function).
TIME-SHIFT ('E' model) - only works on DTV/Freeview signal only, NOT Cable/Satellite (but the relevant box have the facility to record anyway so no biggie).
Plenty of settings to adjust for individual needs (Backlight, Brightness..the usual and plenty more but you do need to read the manual (or your preferred search engine) to know what each does, and everyone doesn't have the same eyes, LOL).
Glass fronted makes it easy to clean and no worry of scraping the 'plastic' as on most LCD's.
On/Off switch rather than putting the TV on 'Standby' - good for environmental reasons, and your electric bill !!
Now, my wee gripes -
PICTURE QUALITY - I know it was mentioned as a good point but also when viewing from an angle, when you notice the quality of the picture a bit, sort of 'less colour' but still very watchable, but the colours are not as great as when sitting in front of the screen. I've read that this is the case on most LCD/LED TV's.
INPUTS - Maybe better if they were downward facing rather than side input as I've noticed that there is a bit of strain if you're using a good or heavy HDMI cable and would have made it neater as all your entertainment gear sits below the screen (mines anyway). Also, which has happened twice (within a short space), when switching on the PlayStation3, I got a message stating 'a connection fault' or a 'incompatible connection' fault with the PS3 but if I reconnect the lead to another HDMI port, it works no problem but (eg next day) if I re-connect back to it's original port, it works without adjusting anything. When queried, [TV maker] said they would send an engineer but I said I'd leave it until it gets a bit frustrating or change the cable and to date it works without any problem or change of cable. Probably just a 'learning' glitch.
TIME-SHIFT - Would have been better if mentioned about the required input signal for this to operate; ie; DTV only & NOT Cable/Satellite (not a major issue though).
GLASS FRONT - A bummer if you have wall or floor standing lights in the background as you can see the relection more on the screen (rather than plastic screens which 'soften' background light).
TV/FREEVIEW TUNER - After tuning in stations, it would have been good to have a 'tick-box' beside the station name to choose which stations you want to delete in one move rather than delete the unwanted stations one by one (maybe I'm missing something or are my eyes 'painted on'??? LOL)
....All in, if you're seriously considering this TV, I definately wouldn't fault it as my gripes are just wee minor ones but how many TV's are truly faultless? Rated as such as I can't give it 4½ out of 5 but, if it wasn't for the HDMI ports downward facing, it would have definately been a 5 star.

UPDATE (April 2012) - TV is still impressive and didn't regret buying it. I know there are Smart TV's being released but, as a family & working man, how can you justify spending the extra money for something that your computer / Virgin [Tivo] or whatever can't do....
Such is my much happiness on this TV that Sharp have since released a 60" which is surely tempting....or would it be tooooo big? I know for sure that when it comes the time to upgrade, Sharp is going to be among my choice of purchase...and just maybe that 60incher [lol]
...well, that's my say. Thanks for reading (if ya did) and hope you found it useful.
