LED TV's the new fad hitting the street's, you have Samsung's and LG's Edge lighting and now Sharp have brought out it's direct Lighting set to take on these very slimline TV's.

Let's get a couple of thing's out of the way yes the Sharp has a bigger rare panel than the other two brands mention, but this should only be a problem to some if wall mounting, but for those of you who will be using a stand there's should be no problem as if you don't look at the back you won't know how big it is.

Also so-called expert reviewers has said the Sharp is no looker, when I went to my local DSG I looked at the set and thought it was quite nice and simple, now this may be a case of each to there own but if you want something with Bell's and Whistle's on look elsewhere but if your after a TV with the latest technology and you don't want to pay over the odd's for features you may use only to show off to your friends for the first few weeks, but if your after a solid picture you won't be dissapointed.

The picture is bright and bold and handles all types off pictures from Sport to Film to Wildlife with great applomb. Now I'm not using the set for it's own Freeview Tuner, but if you have A HD provider or Bluray Player you will be hard pressed but to be impressed with the picture. Within the advanced picture setting's there are many calibrations for you to adjust's to try to get the perfect picture.

The Sound from the Set is nothing to write home about but in my eye's if your going to buy a TV like this your not buying it for it sound, so i'd get some sort of Home Entertainment System to really liven things up.

Make up your own mind about this review but I'm totally happy with my purchase this would have been a 5 star review but the Sound from this TV is that bad that I couldn't give it the extra star.

To sum up this new Sharp LED had a really nice Picture, has the future off the Planet in mind with it's Eco button and the price also goes in it's favour. The Sound is terrible but don't let this put you off what otherwise is a really good TV and there are way's round this.

Sharp - LC 40LE700E 23 Dec 2009
I totally agree with the review above. I have spent a couple of months deciding which TV to get and read reviews on Plasma, LCD and LED.
I decided on this TV after seeing it in a shop, all of the professional reviews mentioned "motion blur" but I havent noticed anything remotely distracting.
The picture is fantastic, but the sound is very "tinney" which you would expect for the size of speaker they put in these things, so I would recommend surround sound or sharps own sound bar.
All in all I am extreamly pleased with my purchase so don't be put off by professional reviews, go out and look in the shops and then come home and buy it cheaper on the internet.

Sharp has great product - but beware they have outsourced service to a company called Sharp Serv. The main aim of the company is to say 'no defect'.

I called them up because my TV goes blank with SKY HD - Sky guys tried 2 boxes, 2 HDMI cables - but no effect. All settings including factory resets.

I googled, and it showed lot of folks have had issues with Sharp TV's and usually firmware upgrades solve it.

I called the Sharp guys for advise - response - there is no defect on TV - we dont issue firmware - we are right - we will charge 90 GBP to log a complain Until then we cant talk !!! - there is no manager in the company to complain to.

Phew call that customer service !!

So unless you are into DIY repairing of TV's - think !
