This blu-ray from Sharp has got a lot of knocks from the critics namely for being 1.1 profile with only picture and picture mode available as opposed to BD live where you can download various features on some blu-rays to your tv via online...It has also been knocked for being slow and not having DTS HD Master Audio....These are no doubt all true but have to be weighed up against what you are looking for in a Blu-ray player? If like myself you have owned the previous Sharp 20 and now this 21 you will realise that to some people like myself BD Live may not be a priority and that waiting an extra 60 seconds for a disc to load may not be criminal....plus this blu-ray has a quick start function on power up that can be accessed from it's menu's to speed things up...Together with having TrueHD audio and a downsampling of HD Master Audio which sounds fantastic on any seperate av amp...But if your looking for 1080p resolution pictures to look absolutely fantastic then this blu-ray player will give many of the one'swith all the bell's and whistles a very competitive run for their money....guaranteed...It's picture is so crisp and clean with a vibrancy of colours especially on animations it almost looks like 3d on various movies...Trust me ....unless you are a videophile this is one of the best budget models for the money out there...BTW I have owned it's predesessor and done the downloads and it has played ever disc I have thrown at it without fail....Don't knock it till you've tried it yourself....Highly Recommended budget player without the bells and whistles...
