A powerful sound impression is generated by several small front speaker chassis with total 50 Watts RMS and an external active Subwoofer with 50 Watt RMS output power. The latest HDSS sound system guarantees an excellent sound quality. An 3D-Audio Return Channel (ARC) via HDMI-Terminal provides a realistec 3D-Sound togheter with a 3D-Aquos-LCD-TV. The soundbar volume is adjusted by the TV volume settings, when connected via the headphone output terminal of any TV-Set. The product was very nice in appearance and sits well in front of the TV. Buyer beware this unit is not compatible with any Panasonic Viera television. It says in small print that the unit may not be compatible with all Tvs. This should be made much clearer before purchase. Unfortunately I had to return the said unit for a refund.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Bought from Amazon so the usual thanks to them ( delivered in well under 24 hrs with Prime membership ). I have connected the system to a 32inch Samsung ( UE32D5520RKXXU ) LED TV bought in December 2011 with multiple HDMI inputs.... so a new model. Although the tv detected a device and defaulted to external speakers I could not get the connection via the HDMI. It could be me ( most likely ) or the tv not supporting ARC ( Audio Return Channel ) for some reason ( if you know the answer please let me know ). Anyway in the end I reverted to just using the supplied ( thank you SHARP ) audio cable taking the headphone socket out of the tv into the Subwoofer audio in, this is the simplest and almost last resort in the manual. BUT it works fine, I can control the volume via the usual tv remote, the subwoofer booms away and the sound bar sits there pumping out all the top end. Good points are that it feels very solid and well made, the sound bar has a very nice heavy feel about it and the subwoofer looks and feels as though you have your moneys worth. You get THREE ( all about 3 meters in length ) sets of cables to give you a choice/chance of getting connected to the tv. Speaker cable is included. You can wall mount the sound bar and you get wall mounts and a pattern paper ( to help position and drill the holes ). A choice of sound bar stands or foot cushions and stands also for the subwoofer. The manual is simple enough although slightly bigger illustrations would be nice, you also get a quick start sheet.
I do not know what I am missing by not being connected via the HDMI cable but it sounds so much better than the inbuilt tv speakers I am more than happy with the result. The base sound is slightly overwhelming at the moment at times ( it is probably the novelty ) and I would like a way of controlling that ( let me know if you know how ). The sound bar sits on a book shelf and is a delight in its slim almost invisible appearance although the problem with any system like this is you have four ugly speaker wires coming out of the back that need to be hidden. The subwoofer is a fair size at ROUGHLY 43cm tall-4.5cm wide-and 30cm deep, on the SHARP promo video they show it positioned next to/behind the viewer but the manual says place close to the tv so I have it directly under the wall mounted tv.
All in all I am happy with the speakers but frustrated that I cannot get the HDMI connection. The system looks and sounds fantastic at a reasonable price.

Like most people who look at various systems I considered a 'proper' sound system with speakers dotted about the place. What put me off (or more correctly my good lady) was the various wires, so I decided on a soundbar. My telly is in a corner on a corner unit so I could only put the soundbar at the front of the telly or on a wall, I (my good lady) was not keen on being on the wall so the front of the telly it was.
The good: Very slim, if your telly doesn't have a high stand then this is great, you won't have the TV remote signal being blocked by the bar, the soundbar is only 80cm long so you barely notice it. The sound is very good, no more 'tinny' noise. Very easy to set up. Good price, you won't get anything of this quality any cheaper. Not overly complicated, you control using your TV remote control.
The bad: The subwoofer is quite tall, it would have been good if it was a bit more dinky. It might not work effectivly on older TV's, best connection method is using the 'ARC' system, check you have a HDMI input with 'ARC' on it.
To summarise: unless you are a sound geek this will do a great job at a cheaper price that most, you will not be disappointed.
