Not since "2012: Ice Age" as Asylum made me laugh so hard. Asylum argues this is based on facts such as CG Sharks can swim in 6 inches of water and Tara Reid's career is in the crapper. Due to global warming sharks are transported inland via a tornado. As in any Asylum disaster film, it is "save the family" first no matter how the world is ending. In this case Fin (Ian Ziering) leads a group of adults on a dangerous trek through the flooded streets of LA to locate and save his family, who really don't like him or want to be saved. They must fight off sharks on every street corner armed with a shotgun, hedge clippers, tire jack, propane, baseball bat, sledge hammer, and my favorite weapon, the bar stool.

At 90 minutes the film is way too short. Much better if stoned.

Parental Guide: No f-bombs, sex, or nudity.

For anyone who hasn't seen the SyFy original movie Sharknado; it's a heart-warming, coming of age story about a ragtag group of sharks uprooted from their home by mother nature's fury. Together, these sharks must band together and overcome adversity while trying, desperately, to make their way back to the only home they've ever known. Battling chainsaw wielding humans and B-list actors trying, desperately, to throw themselves into the displaced shark's mouths every chance they get. If you love sharks and tornadoes, well...now you don't have to chose! Sharknado is, truly, the cinematic experience of a life time.

I was quite taken aback by how realistic the storyline was. The effects blew me (and the sharks) out of the water! A must-see for all those who thought the likes of Avatar, Gravity and Inception set the gold standard for special effects in cinema :)

My title sums this film up totally it's so bad it's good....(a lot like bullseye on tv) No matter how bad the reviews seem I urge everybody to watch this film and stick with it until the end, it's also has a great theme song to go with the film, the special effects are a bit fishy but that is what makes this film so good, I will be watching syfy channel even more after this gem. I can't wait for the sequel.

Wow.... Possibly the greatest film I have ever seen. In my sleep deprived state I'm convinced that I have exercised new muscles in my face from laughing and smiling so much.
It's so bad it is fantastic, Sharks are deadly but in this they band together as one and harness the power of the tornado to move in land and try to help out with the overpopulation of the earth. The cgi and acting will convince you to watch the sequel and you will sit there wondering how canal agreed for their name to be on this.
If you want to sit around, relax and laugh at something so ridiculous it makes you happy then this is the film for you. Don't take it as a serious film, but it did deserve an Oscar!
Chainsaws, bar stool, homemade bombs, shotguns and sharks flooding a house on a hill when there is little to no water outside it are a taste of the wonderful and brilliant directing to come.
5stars here but would only give 4 stars to the sequel for trying too hard to emulate the first.

Even though this is a gift for someone I can recommend it as it's only a gift due to how amazing it is!
Horrendous acting
Awful effects
Abhorrent scripting
Just plain ridiculous

It has all the ingredients for success and surpasses it!

I made this purchase after seeing the trailer for Sharknado sequel & wanted to see what all the 'fuss' was about.

To be honest, 2 of the stars goes to the 3D box art cover,...it's probably the best thing about Sharknado.

The acting is abysmal, the effects are laughably bad,the editing atrocious(sunny blue skies in one scene, dark(fake)clouds & crappy CGI shark filled twisters the next followed by more clear sky!)& the whole film is just completely stupid.
Given that, i should really hate it,...but I don't,& I don't know why!
Whether I could sit through it again I'm not sure, though I am(kinda oddly)looking forward to picking up the sequel on dvd later in the year, which will,no doubt, offer more of the same cheesiness as the first.

Despite the negative reviews this film gets I loved it! Yes the effects are sometimes a bit cheesy but I've seen and in fact own films with worse.... I thought Tara Reid was awesome as the bitter and somewhat obnoxious Ex-Wife. I haven't seen her personally in anything else since The Crow - Wicked Prayer but she was great. She also seems to be slated regularly by a lot of reviewers as well but hey guys, she's awesome, Yo Tara!!! Someone out here loves you..... Ian Ziering was great too and as for Cassie Scerbo (oh mama!!) WOW, I must check more of her films out. I caught a bit of Sharknado 2 on TV a few nights back so that's in my basket now.... Enjoy............

Bad news guys - Sharknado 2 is pure drivel so don't bother!! It's a lesson in how to screw up a promising franchise with sloppy plotline and slack continuity. Stick with Sharknado and call it a day there...
