Although they were formed in Bologna, Italy in 1979,
there is a strong American character to much of
CHANGE smusic. Their sound was strongly influenced
by CHIC, while early singles featured vocals by LUTHER
VANDROSS.
Vocals and additional recording for this album took
place in New York City.
With the 1982 release of SHARING YOUR LOVE, the
second of two albums to feature lead vocalist JAMES
ROBINSON, the group s sound began to move away from
disco and club music and towards R&B and Funk.
The single THE VERY BEST IN YOU was a USR&Bhit,
reaching #16 and spending 14 weeks on the chart.
Subsequent single HARD TIMES(IT SGONNA BE
ALRIGHT) also charted. The album reached #14 on the
USR&Balbums chart and #66 on the Pop chart.

full and expanded form, complete with extensive liner
notes that feature interviews along with added bonus
tracks.
Released in deluxe Super Jewel cases this BBR remaster

Format:Audio CD
This Change album bridges the gap between their Disco era sound and their later electronic R&B. Jumping between sounds makes the album a little less cohesive sounding than the others perhaps but the songwriting and production is top notch as ever.
The Very Best In You, Hard Times and Sharing Your Love are all classic Change singles, even if the latter did not chart anywhere. Promise Your Love and Take You To Heaven are both hits that could have been. The only inclusion that puzzles me is their version of the Four Seasons' Oh What A Night which never worked for me.
The BBR liner notes, sound and packaging is great as always and the bonus content makes this the definitive version of this classic R&B album. Recommended.

After the rightful success of their first two albums, 'Sharing Your Love' was a bit of a come down for me. I like the lead two tracks but as soon as i heard the cover of the very overplayed Four Seasons hit my heart sunk. It just gave an impression of a lack of focus here, something i was not ever able to shake off completely. The next three tracks are all ballads, and are reasonable enough, especially the title track, but a bit much in one session I thought. Things pick up a bit further for 'Take You to Heaven' and 'Keep on It' but then there is a tail off again with the last track rather a whimper for an ending.
So while there are highlights here this is not the place to start your Change collection, or perhaps to end it either.

Change's SHARING YOUR LOVE, released in 1982, was the band's Third studio album and it's a beauty. Musically, vocally and production wise the group is in great form here. This is sophisticated R&B at its best and considering this was 1982 perhaps years ahead of it's time. "The Very Best In You" is a solid album opener, sharp and classy with a great beat. "Hard Times(It's Gonna Be Alright) follows in a similar vein and the group's take on "Oh What A Night" is fresh and intriguing. "Take You To Heaven", "Keep On It" and "You're My Number 1" are also great slices of classy danceable early 80's R&B and all sound as good today as they did 30 years ago.
Change was not limited to dance numbers. Just listen to "Sharing Your Love", the stunning title track. It's chillingly beautiful. The words, the melody and the brilliant lead vocal will stay with you long after the song is over. "Promise Your Love" is similar to the title track and "Everything and More" is a beautiful duet.
As is always the case with a BBR re-master, this one is a winner. The sound is incredible, the liner notes are informative and interesting and the original album cover art is preserved. Another great job by BBR and a must for any collector.

Wonderful record!

This is Change's 3rd album release, and equally as good as the group's previous releases! My favourite track has to be "Promise Your Love" with it's haunting backing chorus. And James Robinson sounds as good as ever! Featuring a stellar cast of wellknown session musicians/vocalists at the time (1982) this album is top notch from start to finish. A highly recommended CD indeed despite the rather high price =) You won't regret this one, I promise. Now we only need the release of their 1983 album to complete the full catalogue of Change! WEA, are you listening???

The "BEST" Change Album/CD/Cassette

I brought the cassette of this when I was on a port vist to Fort Lauderdale, Fla,in 1982, while I was in the US Navy. When I got back to my Ship (USS Carl Vinson CVN-70), I couldn't stop listening to this cassette. My favorite track is "Sharing Your Love". I'm still praying that this will be re-issued in the near future. I'm sure there are others out there that feel like I do... PLEASE RE-ISSUE!!
