Shapeling Trilogy
Book One: Roth: Protector
Book Two: Fawn: Master
Book Three: Davide: Prince

Roth Beowolf:
For over two thousand cycles of the sun, Roth has completed missions as as Shapeling Protector. The successful completion of his current assignment will usher him into the ranks of Shapeling Master. The Thirteen co-Princes have sent him to act as bodyguard to Rainey Childress, spoiled heiress and brilliant scientist. This decisive mission is turning into possibly his worst.

Rainey Childress:
As the only child of Harold Childress, founder of Childress Enterprises, Rainey stands at the brink of an amazing discovery using frequencies to alleviate untold suffering. Because of her work and her heritage, bodyguards are a way of life; however, Roth Beowolf is turning into the bodyguard from hell...or is that heaven?

Fawn Woods:
An unexpected promotion to the rank of Shapeling Master sends Fawn on her first Mission of Mastery: nanny to an emotionally challenged child. Unknown to anyone but Fawn and the Thirteen co-Princes, Zoe is an Indigo child: the next stage in human evolution. To help Zoe, Fawn must first unravel the mystery surrounding her.

Wade Spencer: A widower for two years, Wade goes through nannies like water. His daughter's new nanny is certainly not the matronly type he'd expected. What had the employment agency been thinking to send such a breathtaking beauty to his cattle ranch? However, Wade's not too concerned about her sticking around. Zoe will probably drive her away before the day is over.

Zoe Spencer (child): Zoe doesn't want to cause trouble; she just wants the voices in her head to stop talking. When her daddy brings home the new nanny, she can't believe her eyes. Not only is the nanny beautiful, but the colors surrounding her are different from any she's ever seen. Who is this strange new nanny?

Davide Beowolf: All his life Davide has been told that he is the fulfillment of prophesy--the Great Shapeling Prince. Early on, he decided the universe had made a mistake. How can he be the Prince when he has no shifting ability?

Zoe Spencer (adult): Zoe just wants to get on with her life. After accepting the fact that Davide Beowolf will always view her as his older friend--never his soul mate and lover--she severed contact to preserve her heart. She'd already spent too much of her adulthood pining for him. While on tour with her symphony orchestra in Spain, Davide unexpectedly shows up with an incredible request. Can she refuse his plea?

Excerpt Book One:
Rainey punched her pillow yet again. She wanted to sleep, needed to sleep because of the workday ahead of her. She opened her eyes and sat up. Damn bodyguard. What was his name? Ross...Ron...Rat...Roth. Wolf...Beowolf. What the hell kind of name is that?

Excerpt Book Two:
Fawn peeked a glance at the tall cowboy while they waited at baggage claim. He wasn't much on words. Actually, he was rude. For some reason, he didn't seem happy about her arrival. She wondered what his problem was. He'd looked at her like she was a monster from the dark lagoon. Fawn wasn't getting a good vibe about this assignment. But then she remembered her missions would become more complex now that she was a Shapeling Master. She mentally straightened her shoulders and resolved to complete her first assignment to the praise of the Thirteen co-Princes. She grinned at her own resolve.

Excerpt Book Three:
The music began softly and Davide watched Zoe's mastery of her instrument. Near the end of the evening's performance, she stood and took center stage. The spotlight rested on her and everything else darkened. Her dark blond curls glowed under the light and he lifted his theater glasses to watch her. She closed her eyes and played her violin. The haunting melody captured his spirit and he couldn't take his eyes off his  childhood friend. His heart sped up. In Zoe's music he heard the sounds from his dream: wind, rain, birds, insects.

The shapeling trilogy was an easy read and the plot was well developed with compelling characters. Just the right amount of romance and mystery along with the fantasy component. Worth the money and time.
5.0 out of 5 stars These may be my favorite of Verna Clays books 1 Sep 2014

These may be my favorite of Verna Clays books. I love Roth and Rainey and their adventures. I loved the hidden messages within that shows us a new way to look at our world and where we can go if we just use their insights. Verna has a great talent in taking two people who hate each other and wind their lives around adventures leading right into each others hearts. I can't wait for more.
