This EP has a lot to say, and it is projected forth in Tarrie's usual aggressive, powerful style. She has one of the most remarkable voices in heavy rock/metal, in that she roars her lyrics in a way that other so-called 'superior vocalists' could never do. Try even imitating her and you'll shred your throat to pieces. It is the rawness which makes her so unique and distinctive.

The screaming isn't to everyone's taste, admittedly, but the lyrics are something else! It should be compulsory for everyone to listen to 'Made To Measure'. This song concerns societies attitudes towards women's looks and weight, fiercely criticising anyone who attempts to hurt a woman because of her size. And quite rightly so. Tarrie says what no other woman in music would have the nerve to say, and it is because of this simple fact that she is priceless.

There are another two original compositions here, plus a cover and a radio edit of 'Made To Measure'. The other songs contain more or less the same subject matter as 'Made To Measure', all roared forth in Tarrie's raging/anguished vocal style. She is a deity; a real person in a hollow industry full of sycophantic, hollow, meaningless nothings. To give her a 'feminist' label is also ridiculous; she has more honour and decency than the entire ludicrous feminist movement put together. She deserves to have as wide an audience as possible simply because she is honest and says things that other ridiculous female singers would be far too cowardly and sycophantic to say.

I strongly suggest you buy this album immediately!

Where to start? "The Shape Of Things To Come" is an 5 track EP which also "Features a bonus 13 minute film noir styled enhanced mini-movie directed by Tairrie B." The Ep is designed to give you a taste of the up-coming album "The Horror of Beauty" but i feel it can hold it's own, The EP features 3 songs that won't appear on the full length album the tracks are "Unmanageable", "Sex Junkie (plasmatics cover)" and "Grotesque" which are all amazing songs the EP also contains two versions of "Made To Measure" (one version is a radio edit) which will appear on the full length album. There is not a dissapointing song on this album and the EPK is the iceing on the cake which shows clips from live performances, the making of the EP/album and interviews with each of the members. The whole EP is a great look into what the album will be like and let me tell you, it's a sweet taste. If i could i would give this EP 10 stars if i could.

A special Uk only EP, 'the Shape of Things to Come' is a fantastic taster for the forthcoming 'Horror of Beauty' album due for release in October.

The first track 'Made to Measure' which is also the new single is an impassioned tirade by vocalist Tarrie B about the way that the media (particularly the music industry) dictate the way that women should look, but thats its ok not to confirm to this and that its whats on the inside that counts. An amazing return to form for the band, this track is one of the best I have ever heard live.

The three following tracks are not quite as immediately grabbing but still excellent, but it is really the first which stands out as being on a par with 'Stick it to Me' from the 'Prayer Under Pressure' album, and 'Monster' from 'Speak and Destroy.'

The CD also contains a 13 minute movie which is not available on the album.

This is a release which is a must for all My Ruin fans, and anyone who wants to witness the most uncompromising band in rock.
