I remember seeing this when I was a kid and although it doesn't even compare to Star Wars, it still has enough allure to hold you until the final scene.

I remember the special effects were reasonable for the time (again, this is no Star Wars) but don't expect much after 30 years.

Ultimately, this is a great movie for kids, and still surpasses any of the child-friendly sci-fi yarns we get today.
