Now then ladies, (and gents!)If you have tried any of the Lynne Robinson's Pilates series and found them effective, yet slightly dull after a while, try this!I just bought the DVD,and not only is there is a gorgeous fella on the aerobic warm-up section but, the format of the programme is much more contemporary, with modern settings, and even funky beats in the background of some sections. The exercises are much more fun, even some of the more classical exercises are taught with a slight twist, for example,'The scissors' is much more fun to do against a wall!
I previously combined a 3 times weekly exercise programme of the Body Control 5 video with a healthier diet and lost a dress size and toned my muscles in roughly three months. After becoming bored of the video, I gradually stopped doing it, and the weight crept back on. This time, i am actually looking forward to the new challenges of the Shape-up video, and can feel the difference in my body already after just two weeks. I actually look forward to doing the exercises and, on the DVD format you can choose whether you want to skip any of the exercises, or whether you want to do Workout One or Workout Two, or both together. The exercises are challenging in some ways, but they become immediately easier after a couple of sessions. It depends on your personal strengths to determine which exercises you will need to work on. For me personally, my arms are the weakest area of my body, therefore i make sure that i do not skip any of the exercises that strenghten the arms in the determination to strenghthen that area of my body.I recommend Pilates for anyone who wants to really tone and strengthen their body. It has helped my alignment, flexibility and core strengh in Dance and I hope to continue Pilates as an all-year round Exercise/Relaxation method.
