Although this music is very repetative, it doesn't get boring because the songs are so long (I know that may sound weird, but I'll explain why it works)... Each idea is built on gradually, and ideas such as adding and taking away instruments and changing riffs as soon as they are about to get samey keep the music interesting all the way through. The production is really thick and powerful, and even though I'm not a big fan of grunted vocals, the vocals work on this album, as they add texture making the already big sound even bigger. This music is also very melodic in places, and at times symphonic. Because of this, the lack of vocal melody isn't a problem. Some of the music on this album is quite dreamy as well... some of it reminds me of the music of science fiction films... I really like it. According to wikipedia, this style of music is known as 'funeral doom', which is apperently an extreme version of doom metal, so if you are bored with the same old standard forms of metal like thrash or power metal, I reccomend this to you... I also recomend this to doom metal fans, obviously. This is a very good album.
