Great dvd 3 Sep 2009
Format:DVD
My daughter started watching this around 16 months and within a few weeks, knew all the colors and shapes. Very well done and no extra junk added, just good, attention grabbing teaching.

fantastic 21 Nov 2008
Format:DVD
My one and a half year old son loves this dvd. The brainy baby team are are very good at showing how all the shapes can be found in your house or in food that he sees all the time and accompany it all with songs they've written for each shape and colour. As soon as the music starts my son gets excited and better yet despite the vast amount of times it's been on i haven't yet got that (adult) dread of ' oh no not again' ...

like the fact that objects are named clearly 19 Feb 2004
By P. Shontz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
I am very impressed with the Brainy Baby videos we have tried so far (Shapes & Colors; English; Animals). My 16-mo-old is captivated by this Shapes & Colors video and I've been amazed by all the shapes she can identify (triangle, circle, square, rectangle, oval, heart, star, crescent). I'm not saying she learned all of this from this video; she's also learning from books, puzzles and our conversations in "everyday life." But what I like most about these Brainy Baby videos -- as compared to Baby Einstein -- is that they name the objects clearly as they show them. The BE videos we have tend to show objects along with nice music (and my daughter enjoys naming the objects as she sees them), but as she is quite interested in learning names for objects right now, I like the fact that these videos name everything. If your child likes you to read word/picture books or identify every object they see, these videos will probably be a great hit.

great teacher 2 Dec 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
My 22 month old has been watching this video frequently over the last several months. He now knows his shapes and several colors - just on the basis of this video - one of his first words was "oval" followed closely by "star", "circle", "square" and "heart". "Purple", "red" and "yellow" also popped up. These were spontaneous responses to these shapes and colors seen apart from the video. Since I hadn't worked with him on these, I am sure the video was the primary teacher. It is not "action packed" the way Sesame Street videos are. Rather, it is very repetitive, showing the same concept in many different ways. My little boy will sit through the whole thing time after time, although children with shorter attention spans may lose interest more quickly.

Great DVD to teach Shapes and Colors 21 Sep 2004
By Mir Islam - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
We started off with "Right Brain" on this series. After a few days we introduced my daughter (20 months) to Shapes and Color DVD. We must admit, this is an awesome DVD. Even better than the Right Brain! The narrator describes each shapes and colors very clearly and distinctly. My daughter after watching it for few days can now say red green blue (in her own pronounciation ofcourse) ! I would highly recommend this DVD. Along with this, you may also look into getting bright colored balls and objects. We bought five very bright colored foam balls from Walmart which also proved to be very valuable. Now she can relate to things shown in the DVD and things around her. Also there is a song in the DVD "I am sitting on green grass" which we thought was sooo peaceful and catchy that me and my wife are always humming it. :-D
