Gripping stuff! 4 Jun 2010
This is a really good bit of kit, however, I wish that it was about 1 inch wider! It will not take my 5kg plates, only the 2.5kg ones. It will hold a max of 5 plates, but I find it too light! Maybe OK for most people though! I wish I could get my 5kg plates on - the bigger designs of this trainer are really expensive!
Good for finger exercises, due to the pulling/lifting action of it. Try it with 2 or 3 fingers! Quite a challenge.
Recommended for average strength people, no good for the big boys!!

Iron Grip Trainer 4 May 2011
By Deacon
This is no good good unless you like to do an excessive amount of reps. I made the mistake of assuming the weights shown were 5kg plates. They are actually 2.5kg plates shown in the picture. this stacks them 4 high so you can get 10kg on this. Not enough for me wish I could return it and get my money back.Iron Grip Trainer

Good for the price 7 July 2011
I was able to load it with 5 * 5KG plates, for a total of 25kg. They are the standard cast iron type. I would advise anyone purchasing to measure the diameter of their weight plates to determine roughly how much weight they can get on. I do not use this as an exclusive piece of equipment, rather as part of a routine, involving wrist curls and reverse curls in a circuit.
