More About the Author

Heather Katsonga-Woodward is passionate about kinky and curly hair! She started the UK's biggest blog on naturally kinky and curly hair, NenoNatural.com in November 2012, about a year after her hair fell out due to excessive use of chemical relaxers. In the process she learnt not only how to manage her own hair much better but also how to make her own hair products such as milder shampoos and more enriching conditioners.

Named after the Malawian village in which her father was born, Neno, Neno Natural aims to share information on all things hair - from how to grow it longer and healthier to how to whip up your own DIY hair care products. With over 300,000 fans her page Facebook.com/LongHealthyHair has become a forum where many choose to share their natural hair pictures and journeys.

Her previous projects include: Chichewa101.com, a site that makes learning Chichewa (the language of Malawi) fun and simple; the Fat Creep™ weight tracker app on iPhone and android - the first weight tracker with an in-built alert system so that users don't have to remember to weigh-in helping them stay slim; and GirlBanker.com - a site that provides tips on how to get into the highly paid and super competitive world of investment banking.

Prior to starting Neno Natural, Heather spent seven years in investment banking - first in IBD at Goldman Sachs then in Derivatives Structuring at HSBC. Heather graduated with a First in Economics from the University of Cambridge. She lives in London with her husband and their hive of happy bees.

All this is is mixing the sam surfactants that commercial products use. WAY too much "fluff"to wade through.

I am a soapmaker and I make liquid shampoo without all the harsh ingredients the author uses. She is not making shampoo; she is making chemical blends.

HASH(0x92b3a75c) out of 5 stars not for beginners 28 Feb. 2015

You need chemistry lessons to make any of the shampoos. Lots of ingredients that are not healthy. If you are going for the more organic shampoos don't get this book.
