"Shameless" is a blisteringly funny, offbeat drama which follows the rollercoaster lives and loves of a rather dysfunctional family (or two) from Manchester. The Shameless: Series 2 three-disc DVD set reunites us with the riotous Gallagher crew from series one--mum went AWOL years ago and dad Frank stayed at home with the six children, only to hit the bottle... and sometimes the kids too. The real head of the family is big sister Fiona (20), who looks after Carl (11), Debbie (9) and baby Liam (3). She is occasionally helped--but more often hindered--by the reluctant virgin Lip (16) and the actively gay, but very private, Ian (15). Featuring all episodes from the second series, Shameless: Series 2 reveals the hectic world of sexual adventures, triumphs, love, scams and crime on the Chatsworth Housing Estate.
Synopsis
Shameless: Series 2 promises plenty of laughs from Manchester's most dysfunctional family (the Gallaghers) and their neighbours (the Maguires), as they go about their very anarchic lives. Join Frank and his six kids, for whom there is never a dull moment on the Chatsworth housing estate, where wheel-less cars are the norm and the moving ones are stolen.

Each and every character is a diamond in the rough and the plots are beautifully constructed. The family initially appears to be a haphazard collection of amoral misfits but soon reveal themselves as caring and sharing, despite the multiplicity of problems they face.
Discovering the "crude, rude and lewd" but lovable rogues of the Chatsworth Estate has entertained me over and over again.

Words cannot explain how amazing this show is. Paul Abbots semi-autobiographical drama about a working class family living on a rough estate in Manchester is the best British comedy/drama in years. The family in question is the Gallachers. The house is ran by big sister Fiona & her boyfriend Steve. Then there's Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl & Liam. The star of the show, however, is Frank their estranged alcoholic father.
This series is even better than the first one. It puts you through every possible emotion often within a single episode. The reason for this is its incredibly 'real' feel. Every single one of the characters, regardless of how big or small a part they play, have tremendous depth & the relationships portrayed between them are brilliantly written & acted.
If there's one critism I have for this series then it's the rather anti-climactic final episode. I feel they tried to put too much into 45 minutes & it ended up looking like it was just there to set up the third series which is something I really can't wait for!
Please, please, please buy this because there is no chance whatsoever of you being disappointed. A real gem.

for shameless fans that have not seen the first series have a good talk to yourselves..this is a must see and a classic..probably the best one of all.the combined cast i think make it what it is...absolutely hilarious.there will be some of you out there that will not appreciate this type of comedy as it is unfortunately very close to harsh reality but if you put that aside i guarantee that you will enjoy it...very very good if not excellent.

The item was dispatched quickly. However, of the 6 episodes I could only watch 1. The first disk wouldn't work at all and on disk 2 only the 3 episode would work. Read more

The disc was not a copy. The quality was excellent. I am a fan of the show, the early episodes were by far the best. Very happy, delivery fast NO Complaints....
