Frank Gallagher finds a new love this series with the arrival of local Librarian Libby. Libby’s passion for romantic literature wakes in Frank something that has been dormant for so long…. and then he meets her mum Patty who might just put a spanner in the works.

Eight months on from the tragic loss of Mandy, the Maguire family are preparing to welcome a new addition to the clan, a baby son for Karen and Jamie Maguire. And baby Connor’s arrival doesn’t mean Joe Pritchard will loosen his hold on Karen, who soon discovers that motherhood brings on some unwanted Jackson family traits. The Jockey’s got a new landlady – Mimi Maguire so Patrick has to come to terms with their separate living arrangements. While Kelly takes her new godparent duties to the extreme, boyfriend Shane Maguire gets involved with wedding scams – and then thinks about a wedding of his own.

Micky Maguire and Ian Gallagher now share a bungalow together, as the perfect odd couple. While over at the Gallagher’s, Liam hits senior school and develops his first crush. Carl and girlfriend Maxine get adventurous in the bedroom. Welcome back to the inimitable world of Shameless.

I have only watched up to episode 11 but each and every one so far has been brilliant.
But for me the outstanding episodes so far have been the ones documenting Karen's downward spiral into Bi Polar disease..what fantastic and mesmerising acting..and so moving..

Not as funny as some of the other series but absolutely none the worse for it..
in fact I think that has made it better...for me the best series yet...

The fear that we Shameless fans all share is that one day it will go stale, a fear perhaps heightened by the news that the next series will have even more episodes, turning it into something not a million miles from a 'soap'. However, that staleness has never come and let's hope it never will - this series is as brilliant as ever!

Debbie's departure to join the army is as sudden as it is unexpected, but it leads to a moving episode in which Liam (Johnny Bennett - surely one of the best child actors ever seen on television), distraught that she will be sent to Afghanistan, comes to terms with his feelings by befriending a World War II veteran.

Ian's life also takes a distinctly unexpected turn, much to the horror of his new housemate Mickey (the incomparable Ciaran Griffiths giving his all in the portrayal of a magnificently-realised character I'm sure Charles Dickens would have been proud to invent). Mimi's new role as the landlady of The Jockey simply reinforces my wish that it was a real pub (wouldn't you just love to attend their fancy dress 'Dead Celebrities' night?) As for Frank's new girlfriend, I do find it hard to forget that she was Mrs Doyle in Father Ted, but somehow that doesn't seem to matter.

However much Shameless may veer towards becoming a 'soap', its perfect scripts and acting performances will surely guarantee that this is a cut way above EastEnders or Corrie. Soap for grown-ups. Superior soap. Imperial Leather, perhaps...though that sounds like a service available from Lillian's knocking-shop. May Shameless live forever!

This is just more classic Shameless genius. It seems to be one of the few TV series which keeps going and going without losing any of its original qualities. Definitely recommend it to all Shameless lovers out there!

I have heard quite a few people say that Shameless is getting rather boring and is not as funny as it used to be. Anyone who has heard other people say this should NOT listen to a word they have to say about this as it is geting better as the series is progressing and the jokes are getting funnier every time. Shameless does not deserve anyone giving it critical comments as it is one of the funniest shows on TV. If there is anyone who has not bought this series because they have heard bad things about it, i strongly advise you to ignore them and buy it. You will not be disappointed.
