Book Description

18 Aug 2006
Psalm 23 is the psalm people are most often likely to be able to recite, even if they are not religious. It is frequently sung at funerals; it can be a source of great comfort in times of grief or fear. But, as Dave Tomlinson writes, 'it is really a song of life, which teaches about the nature of faith in every situation' These reflections expand on the author's chapter on Psalm 23 in Running into God (SPCK 2004).

Review

"'The language is simple and effective... This is a book without the need for profound theology, but a reminder that faith is stronger than theory and based on our busy lives. Enjoy it as I did and keep it to dip into when faith is sometimes tested.' Christian Marketplace"

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and comforting book 11 Sep 2012
By KLou
This is a beautiful book by a great teacher and vicar. It explains the 23rd Psalm in ways which relate to everyday experiences and gives a simple yet profound explanation of God.
It's written lyrically and conversationally and in a way that sees God and faith as transcending religion. The writing is further illustrated and messages expounded on by a wealth of references.

It's a lovely read, oozing with the compassion, of the author which really feeds the soul.

Thjis liitle bbok gives a new and vibrant meaning to the 23rd Psalm. This psalm is probably the best known psalm and is a great comfort to many people in times of distress and delight.
I have now bought and given away about 10 copies to freinds who need some spiritual comfort .
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The author should seriously consider republishing!
In the mena time I hop the supply of 2nd hand copies does not dry up.
