Another fine book, read it within the week, honest as honest can be ,about the highs and lows of a family opting to jump of the treadmill...
Thought provoking
Martin certainly gets a lot of things off his chest, and if more people would listen the world would be a better ,happier place..
Written like things have been stripped back ,no rose tinted glasses worn here..
A wonderful ,gentle family yet with shear determination they never gave up ..a lesson for us all..
A must read........

Enthralling read 20 Dec 2010
By Clive
Format:Paperback
Martin has a wonderful style of writing and as I am a very late 50s baby I appreciated his humorous revisits to his childhood and teenage days. His description of events at Mothers Garden had me laughing out loud. Only Michael McIntyre had achieved that previously. Martin delivers the story in such a way that you feel part of the family and can't wait to turn the page and see what besets them next. I finished the book in just a few days and have nothing but admiration for the way Martin, Maggie, Ella and Joe Joe have grasped the challenge and succeeded in raising a smile in many a home. I thoroughly recommend this book
