A stylish book with photographs, this would make a nice gift for cocktail-lovers.
The cocktails are listed one to a page and instructions are given on how to mix, serve and garnish each one. There are some classic cocktails, such as White Lady or Margarita (both shaken and frozen), but to me the appeal of this book is the more unusual offerings. These include Pomegranate Martini, Berry Collins, and Watermelon and Rosewater Martini (all of which I have tried and liked). Depending on where you live, some of the ingredients may be difficult to get hold of (e.g. Aperol, Parfait Amour, lychee liqueur), but these are used in a few cocktails only.
There are a few pages on infusing spirits and using fruit purees, and basic cocktail-making methods. A chapter of mocktails is also provided. It is indexed alphabetically by name, as well as by dominant base spirit/type, but not cross-referenced by secondary ingredient(s). For this reason I give the book four stars (picky, picky)!
Note, this book is published in the U.S. under the title Shaken: 250 Classic Cocktails With A Twist.
