Product Description

The Aftermath of the battle at Hattin left all of Christendom in chaos. Jerusalem was lost to King Saladin, as Europe struggled to regroup. Those survived by the fallen General, Thomas Ramsdell, fight to regain what is left.

The last Templar, Michael, once restored from slavery finds himself amidst the Elders of Sion, who try to recruit him. He rejects this, convinced that he is meant to be a soldier, and his lust for infidel blood cannot be satisfied. Rachael produces the heir Thomas so desired, but the Templars will not free the hold they have placed on his estates. Thaddeus is forced to come to terms with his lifestyle, once his adventures cost him his entire crew. Alone, he seeks to help the Lady Rachael and his first mate Gregory in their quest. In the end, he seeks the Lady Rachael .

King Henry II is at odds with his son, and heir to the throne Richard; and although all have promised to take up the cross and proceed, no crusade has been launched.

It is the spirit of the young woman, Rachael, along with the indebtedness of the knight Michael, the diligence of Gregory and the greed of Captain Thaddeus that in the end reap the harvest they desire.

This book is technically Book III of my series, but it follows Book I: The Templar's Heart very nicely by taking up where that story leaves off. It is fast paced, and full of adventures.

I truly hope you enjoy it.

Thank You.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very enthralling 31 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Definitely one that I could put down. By chapter 12 I was not enthralled at all, nothing gripped me for wanting to read on but I carried on to read just over half way when enough was enough

5.0 out of 5 stars Shadow of the General. ( Crusaders Vol. 111 ) 27 Dec 2011
By Gordon H. Sims - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have now finished Volumes 1,2 and 3 and have ordered Volumes 4 and 5.
I am a serious book addict, reading four books a month, so when I give a book five stars it has to be pretty dam good! I cannot believe the author has had so few reviews she has obviously been overlooked!
She is an excellent story teller keeping the suspense going from cover to cover. She is also well versed in the Crusader's history and knows a great deal about the Arab way of life.( I was working in Arabia for some years. )
I highly recommend this series, buy it you will not regret it. Great for the Winter evenings with nothing on the telly!

5.0 out of 5 stars great read 24 May 2013

This book seemed like it should be fairly predictable but had enough turns that the question was always there. The characters were well developed and held my interest the entire book. Also, there are enough unanswered questions for me to want to read another in this series.

Another great one. I love the larger than life characters and descriptive fight scenes. Felt like I was right there in the battles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shadows of the General 26 April 2014
By Glenn Few - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Another well-told tale, good character development, good action sequences. Overall, a very compelling read. The only thing that marred my enjoyment was the technical errors. She uses commas where none is needed, omits commas where they should be, and uses incorrect vocabulary, such as: lie for lay, breach for breech (and vice versa), collaboration for corroborate, then for than, etc. I don't know if she just doesn't proofread some of her chapters, or if English is her second language. Other than that, I would highly recommend this book. She is a very good storyteller.
