This book, for me anyway, is the best book I have ever read for shadowrun. Dirk Montgomery's smart remarks and personal views on the events that happen to him are a welcome change. Other books have convoluted plots or none at all, or even worse the characters hob-knob with key characters in the world of 2050 which sort of defeats the genre(gritty streetlife, the player working for/against the corps with wits and guns). The plot is straight and easy to follow(for me anyway) but with enough twists to keep you guessing. Basically Dirk is accused of murdering an old aquaintance and her sister seeks revenge, he manages to explain and sets out to find the real killer. Not so simple as she was killed for only easdropping on a bigger scheme. Then follows magic, guns, lonestar, megacorps and bugs.
